What FileMorf is
FileMorf converts, compresses, edits, and inspects files — images, PDFs, documents, spreadsheets, structured data, audio, and video. The core tools work without an account, and chained tools can be saved as reusable recipes that run on whole batches.
The product is independently built and operated. There is no ad network on the site, and the business model is simple: free browser tools, paid plans for server-backed capacity and automation.
Where your files are processed
We are deliberately precise about this, because "private" claims in this category are often vague:
- Browser-local by default. Standard image, PDF, document, and data conversions — and the audio editor's cutting, effects, and exports — run entirely in your browser using WebAssembly and Canvas APIs. Those files never leave your device.
- Server processing is explicit. OCR, AI upscaling, AI audio tools, large-file jobs, and retained workspace outputs run on our servers over TLS, are labeled as server features in the UI, and inputs and outputs are deleted automatically on your plan's retention schedule.
The full breakdown lives on the local processing page and in our privacy policy. We intentionally avoid blanket claims like "100% private" — our own automated checks fail the build if marketing copy overstates what stays local.
How the tools are tested
Every release runs through automated checks before it ships:
- Document rendering runs against a golden-file test corpus in a containerized renderer on every backend change, so PDF fidelity regressions fail the build instead of reaching users.
- Contract tests validate the public sitemap, canonical URLs, hreflang pairs, structured data, and the honesty of processing claims in our own marketing copy.
- Pricing, plan limits, and entitlements render from one machine-checked catalog, so the pricing page, billing, terms, and API docs cannot disagree with what the product actually enforces.
- JavaScript payload budgets are enforced in CI, and first-party real-user monitoring tracks the speed real visitors experience.
Plans, briefly
The free tier covers everyday browser conversions plus a small signed-in workspace allowance. Pro ($9/month) removes the daily limits, Developer ($19/month) adds the REST API with keys and signed webhooks, and Enterprise ($49/month) raises every limit.
