Compress Video Online
Shrink MP4 and WebM files dramatically without visible quality loss — for email, messaging, or the web. Processing runs in an background server job after a TLS upload, with workspace-scoped retention.
Video compression runs on secure servers.
Full video re-encoding uploads over TLS and runs as a background server job for videos up to 20 minutes. Workspace access to server-processed inputs and outputs expires after 7 days on free accounts and no later than 30 days on paid plans. Download URLs expire no later than that access boundary. Expired objects are queued for automatic cleanup, and deletion is retried if storage removal fails. A free account includes 10 server jobs per month with no card required.

How it works
Upload your video
MP4, MOV, WebM, or MKV — up to 20 minutes of video.
Pick quality & format
High, Standard, or Small — each maps to a carefully tuned encoder preset.
Download the result
See exactly how much smaller it got, then download. Workspace access to encrypted retained server objects expires on your plan’s schedule. Expired objects are queued for automatic cleanup, and deletion is retried if storage removal fails.
Frequently asked questions
How much smaller will my video get?
It depends on how the original was encoded — screen recordings and phone videos often shrink substantially. The compressor re-encodes with tuned H.264 (MP4) or VP9 (WebM) presets; pick High for near-original quality, Standard for the best balance, or Small for the smallest file.
Is my video private?
Compression is real re-encoding work, so it uploads over TLS and runs as a background server job. Workspace access to server-processed inputs and outputs expires after 7 days on free accounts and no later than 30 days on paid plans. Download URLs expire no later than that access boundary. Expired objects are queued for automatic cleanup, and deletion is retried if storage removal fails.
What are the limits?
Videos up to 20 minutes. Upload size follows your plan: 10MB on free accounts, 100MB on Pro and Developer, and 500MB on Enterprise. A one-time Week Pass also unlocks the 100MB limit for 7 days.
Which output format should I pick?
MP4 (H.264) plays everywhere and is the safe default. WebM (VP9) usually compresses slightly better at the same quality and is great for the web, but older devices may not play it.
Does the compressed video have a watermark?
No. FileMorf never adds watermarks or logos to your videos — on the free tier or any paid plan. What you download is your video, just smaller.
Only need part of the video? The lossless trimmer cuts without re-encoding — or add AI subtitles.
