The plan
- 1Convert to JPG
- 2Strip metadata
Checked after the run
- Every output is JPG or JPEG
- One output for every input file
- Every output image decodes cleanly
- No EXIF or GPS metadata remains in the outputs
Every step runs locally in your browser. The receipt records what this browser observed. It is not signed by FileMorf or independently verified.
About this workflow
Convert photos, including iPhone HEIC, to clean JPGs and strip EXIF and GPS metadata. Your browser reinspects every output and checks that no readable metadata remains.
Questions
What metadata gets removed?
EXIF blocks such as camera details, timestamps, and GPS coordinates are removed. The local check reparses each output for readable metadata, and the receipt records what the browser observed.
Does this reduce photo quality?
Photos are re-encoded to JPG at quality 90, which is visually lossless for sharing. Metadata removal itself costs no quality.
Do HEIC photos from iPhone work?
Yes. HEIC decodes in your browser and converts straight to JPG.
