Frequently asked questions

How loud can it make my audio?

The gain slider adds up to +12dB, and per-clip gain adds ±6dB where you need it. The normalizer instead measures integrated loudness and targets −14 LUFS, a common reference for spoken-word and online distribution rather than a universal platform standard.

Will boosting volume cause distortion?

Raw gain can clip once peaks hit full scale. The default normalization export uses a −1.5 dBTP true-peak ceiling to reduce that risk, but lossy encoding and downstream playback can still alter peaks.

Why is my exported audio still quieter than commercial tracks?

Commercial masters combine loudness normalization with compression. Add the "Music glue" compressor in the effects rack before normalizing — compression raises the average level, then normalize sets the final loudness.

Is my audio uploaded?
